Rules.
SEHSL - South Elmsall & Hemsworth Snooker League
TITLE & CONSTITUTION
The title of the organisation shall be the South Elmsall Premier Snooker League, and shall consist of social clubs, institutes, within the SESKUH & Ackworth area.
OFFICIALS
The association will consist of the following:
- Chairman
- Vice Chairman
- Secretary
- Each team can elect up to two delegates to represent their team registered for that season
The structure of the league shall be played in accordance with the
WPBSA
rules stated with the exception of Replacement of Ball(s) after a foul

- 1. Fees per Season: Team Registration:£20, Player Registration:£3, Team KO:£10, Pairs KO (per pair):£5, Individuals KO:£3
- 2. Professional players are NOT allowed to play in the League or Cup Competitions. Defined by having any SNOOKER frames registered on Q School
- 3. No persons under the age of 18 are allowed to play in any competitions. However, 16 year olds are allowed to play league games, providing clubs allow entry to under age individuals. This waiver should therefore be arranged before the evening of the match, otherwise the game will be forfeited, unless a reserve is available.
- 4. Meetings will be held at 7.30pm each month at the Moorthorpe Empire WMC, (as arranged). Each team may be represented by two delegates per meeting. In the event of clubs with more than one team, then both teams have to be represented to prevent penalisation of 2 points for non attendance. The A.G.M. will be the final meeting of the season and must be attended by at least 50% of the club delegates to be quorate.
- 5. The Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary will be elected yearly at the A.G.M.
- 6. A special meeting may be convened in one of two ways. A) At a request of the Chairman/Vice Chairman, Secretary or Treasurer or B) at the request of a league member, provided a letter stating the item to be raised has been received by the Secretary. In either case a letter must be submitted giving at least 14 days notice.
- 7. Teams entering the league must consist of a minimum of 6 players. In addition to the team registration, each team are to pay £2 per player, this is to enable a fair result of pay out at the end of the season. This is to be paid as decided at the Delegates meeting, The final date for registration of additional players closes at the turn round of the season.
- 8. Handicaps are adjusted by results, a win adjusts the handicap by -2 and a loss by +2. The handicaps are adjusted automatically as soon as a Result is entered. The lower ceiling for handicaps is r/25. The higher ceiling has been removed. There is no limit. New starters (ie unknown players) will automatically start on a mark of r/9. Players joining the league with a past pedigree will be given a mark as deemed appropriate by the Delegates/Committee. In the event of any protest, the situation will be brought up at the next available delegates meeting and will be debated. The delegate`s outcome will be final.
- 9. All results are to be entered into SEHSL.CO.UK/Results to provide an up to date record of handicaps throughout the season. For this procedure to work it is for all captains or an alternative team member to ensure the results are entered without delay.
- 10. All league matches are to be played in accordance with the fixture list Thursday evenings. All matches are to commence at 7.30pm. All games to use equipment supplied by the home team. Each home team are to provide adequate rests etc.
- 11. Each frame will score 1 point for the winner.
- 12. Order of play. Both captains should write their team selection down in the order they are to play. Games should be played in the order listed.
- 13. Any chosen player who may be for unknown reasons delayed, will be given until 9.00pm to make the team, it goes without saying that this player should appear at the end of team selection. Failure for that player to arrive within the time, then a substitute player may take his place. Failure to fill the vacant match will result in forfeit of frame. A non registered player may play but will receive a mark of o/25 (maximum h`cap)
- 14. Any RESULT that is not entered into SEHSL.CO.UK/Results within 7 days of the published match date will render the offending team being deducted 2 points. Regular offenders will be libel for an additional fine. A copy of the result details can be sent to the secretary by e-mail/WhatsApp which must be received within 7 days.
- 15. Teams who unable to fulfil a fixture and cancel the game without letting either the secretary or the opposing team know at least 48hrs prior to fixture will forfeit the match, a score of 4 nil will be awarded to opposing team. Any cancellations deemed valid and accepted by the secretary and opposing team, may be re-arranged and played at the earliest opportunity.
- 16. Where a team turns up with only 3 players, the outstanding game will be conceded. Persistent offenders could be liable to a substantial fine and in severe cases may be expelled from the league. Both teams must have two players available to play by 7.30pm.
- 17. Any fines incurred during the season, are to be paid in full at the next available delegates meeting. Should any team with outstanding fines may incur a further fine, to be paid in full before they can register for the following season.
- 18. Where a team is expelled for disciplinary reasons, or, unable to fulfil their commitments for the season, all previous results will be declared null and void. All game points accumulated will be deducted throughout. and imposing team could serve a minimum 12 months ban. Teams may reapply for membership in the league after serving ban. Individuals may appeal against expulsion by writing to the secretary explaining their reasons to be re-instated, which will be heard at the next delegates meeting or AGM.
- 19. Members entering any competitions please note that it is the responsibility of both parties concerned, to contact and arrange fixtures within the time frame given. Leaving it for one another to arrange will not be acceptable and could result in those players being scratched from the competition altogether. I see no apparent reason why all competitions cannot be resolved within the time frame given. Extreme cases where it has not been possible to play matches will be taken into consideration.
- 20. SCALE OF FINES: Any team imposing a fine will be fined £3, to be paid at the next delegates meeting. In the event of any further infringements the fines will increase to £5.00p for second offence and £10.00p for third offence. Any team that exceeds above three offences, then the situation will then go to the delegates meeting, where an expulsion could be imposed.
- 21. TEAM KNOCKOUT. Both captains should write their team selection down in the order they are to play. Games will be played on a home and away basis. The final result should be entered as a Result on WWW.SEHSL.CO.UK or sent to the secretary forthwith. In the event of a tied aggregated score after both matches, (both teams finish 4 each), then a play off between two players (chosen prior to start of the return leg) will take place to decide the winners.
- 22. DOUBLES KO. All matches will be played best of 3 frames in all rounds up to and including the semi finals. The final will be best of 5 frames played on a neutral table. Each frame will be played off two-thirds handicaps.
- 23. SINGLES KO. All matches are played the best of 3 frames in all rounds up to and including the semi finals. The final will be best of 5 frames played on a neutral table. Each frame will be played off full handicap.
- 24. VETS KO. All matches are played the best of 3 frames in all rounds up to and including the semi finals. The final will be best of 5 frames played on a neutral table. Each frame will be played off full handicap.
- 25. In the event of a tie for a League Prize, it will be shared.
- 26. All frames will be overseen by a referee/scorer. The referee/scorer will be a member of the away team. Any registered player is allowed to referee/score, even if not listed on the team sheet.
- 27. Any player deemed by the referee to have purposely committed a deliberate foul, then the referee shall award the correct points to the opposing team and at the same time warn offender/s responsible and that if repeated the frame will be conceded and a result of 147-0 will be awarded to the opposing team.
- 28. In the event of a free ball, the player MUST nominate the free ball.
